Assignment
For this project we were told to create a solution to a problem in our world using biotech. Our group decided to focus on solving world hunger in barren and unfruitful areas. We approached this problem with many different ideas such as space farms and algae that grows in your stomach but we ultimately decided to create importable farms. We came up with the idea to create farms stacked in a compact form that can survive with little resources. In order for plants to grow they need sunlight carbon dioxide and water. We incorporated mirrors to give the plants sunlight and as well created irrigation connected to a local water source to keep the plants alive. We chose our plant as potatoes because they are packed wit calories and they can expand well aswell as being able to survive off salt water. We finished our project by creating the design and creating a presentation for our idea.

Photosynthesis- The process plants use to turn co2 water and sunlight into glucose and oxygen. We used this process becuase in order for our plants to create potatoes we had to make ways to sustain them with water and sunlight.
Protein- Protein is a chemical in foods that helps build fat and muscle when eaten. IT helps with all cell functions. The reason we chose the potato is because protein keeps you alive and potatoes are full of it.
Reflection- You can reflect rays from the sun to the leaves

This project was a very fun and interesting experience because we got to try and apply our ideas to the real world in an achievable and effective way to solve a real world problem. Some of the problems we encountered was making sure that our idea was not way too expensive compared to how effective it was. We also encountered the problem of trying to do something that hasn't been attempted before. In our group I played an important role of starting and working through all the steps while encouraging my teammates to help and get work done. I also helped by coming up with and explaining our idea to the group. I needed to work on staying on task all the time because I spent some of my time goofing off where I had spare time but that is not a perfect work ethic. I also should work on the quality of my work and make sure that I have no typos as well as beautification.
